Display for postcards

Developed as part of the Visual Design program at ESPM São Paulo, in collaboration with Tiago Dalpino.

Category:  product design.

The project involved developing a self-supporting display capable of holding more than 20 postcards using only paper, without any adhesive.

During the research and prototyping process, we found that, beyond paper weight, factors such as grain direction, cutting, and creasing were essential to defining the structure and strength of the project. Mainly inspired by architecture, the first prototypes featured too many components and fragile points, compromising their stability.

The solution was to develop a system made from a single flat piece. The result was a compact display produced from a single A4 sheet, capable of holding more than 20 postcards without the use of glue. Beyond meeting the technical requirements of the challenge, the project demonstrated how structural decisions can transform a simple material into a functional, economical, and efficient solution.
